Flooding Across Central Europe This Past Week

.
While I haven’t watched much tv in the past month, my wife has. She says that there has been almost no coverage on non-cable news this week.
I’ve read about it online, but I had no idea that it was so wide spread.
~
Heavy rainfall over Europe during the the past week has swollen many rivers past their flood stage, wreaking havoc unseen in decades across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. At least 18 people across the region have been killed, and tens of thousands have been evacuated. In Germany, the crest of the Elbe River is now approaching the North Sea, as the swollen Danube River is surging toward the Hungarian capital of Budapest. Collected here are images from the past several days of those affected by these historic floods, even as meteorologists predict more rain over the coming weekend.
Here are a few pictures. There is a total of 36 at the link. It’s very sobering and a few are more heart wrenching than others.

I hope that the photographer was able to rescue this poor thing. We have a female cat named Ebony that looks like this cat. When I saw this and saw the terror in it’s eyes I instantly teared up. The rest of the day hasn’t been the same.

It seems that no matter where a disaster happens, the Red Cross is there. Bless ‘em.

Mr. President! Mr. President! You did it all wrong!

This is no way to monitor a hurricane as President.

You need to take the ‘All Hat And No Cattle’ Bush the Lesser approach.

It was Aug. 29, McCain’s 69th birthday, and on the tarmac, Bush presented his old political rival with a cake. The two posed, holding the cake up for cameras, and within seconds, went their separate ways. The cake, melting in the 110-degree Arizona heat, was left behind, uneaten.

Here a fellow named George W. Bush is having a delightful time playing a guitar given to him by country singer Mark Wills after a visit to Naval Base Coronado in sunny southern California. It’s fun to be president.
So you see Mr. President? That is how you monitor a hurricane. I know presidentializeing is hard work. You need to relax no matter what is happening.
So take a few tips from Bush The Lesser.
Relax pretend to play some guitar, and have some cake. Even if you don’t eat it.

When I become President…

We need to keep saying over and over…President Obama’s campaign should take the high road and campaign like an adult.
